Guess what?

What is multiple myeloma? Why?

Mom was diagnosed with multiple myeloma! What do we do now? How do we help a nurse who knows more than the doctors?

Oh boy… is this a good time for holistic living? ummmmm… it’s time to study!

Oh, the good thing is Mom was able to sign up for the cancer society (Oahu)… Because they were able to support with medication…very expensive????? Try one thousand dollars per pill! Or put it this way: only 5 pills in the bottle for 5,000 dollars what???????? Ummmm, Mom, what are you doing??? Chewing, chewing on what?

I’m chewing and thinking… my body hurts. Yes, I see the way you try to adjust yourself; each movement is a struggle.

What happened at the doctor’s appointment???

Who am I? I am Lady Enoka, the family archivist and the youngest of 6 siblings. I just turned 60 years old (2026), this is a moment.

I did not stand beside my mother’s illness as an observer. I entered the work of caring for her. Managing the practical realities of treatment while still being her daughter. I balanced three responsibilities at once: Mom, my family I left behind, and my employment.

See, I wasn’t just reading a chart I was living inside the chart.

How something like this a lapsed communication progression of illness just took its toll. Warning bells sounded, yet doctors told her, You're going to live a long life; less than 50 days were left of her lifespan.
