Research is the process of asking a question and being curious. Comparing sources, checking what is true, and learning from what you find. You notice something, ask a question, look for the information, compare what you find, and keep learning.

Because we can’t rely on memory; memory can be incomplete, opinions can be wrong, and one source may not tell the whole story. Research lets us check, compare, and understand before we conclude.

“When did the parking lot lose its color?”
We went from pastel blues, mint greens, coral, yellows, and two-tone cars to parking lots that almost look grayscale. So what happened? Did our world become more conservative and visually bland? Did manufacturers decide neutral colors were cheaper, easier to sell, and safer for resale? Or did consumers gradually start asking for cars that blend into the modern world? -phones, computers, screens, glass, metal, black and gray interiors? Maybe industry shaped the consumer while the consumer shaped the industry. Either way, when you look across a parking lot today, there is noticeably less color variation than there was generations ago.
